More WACAP

We just finished our weekend of education and our brains are a little fried. For the most part it was really good, but I did find it to be a lot of repeat information that we got in our first informational meeting...at least the first days worth of information anyway. My favorite part of the whole experience was meeting an adoptive family who is just getting ready to celebrate their 1 year anniversary with their little girl they adopted from China. She was adorable and it was nice to hear their take on the process and experience in China. It was funny because I automatically recognized the hotel name of where they stayed since it's the same place my sister stayed when she went. We got a lot of parenting advice and attachment promoting suggestions which is excellent, but at the same time seems so far away. So even though we're tired and overwhelmed, it did really help us feel like this is becoming real. We did a candle lighting ceremony right at the end and read our commitments to our future child and WACAPs commitments us which was pretty touching. One of the statements did say that we would love and care for these children until death. I took the form home and wrote in forever instead. (oops, posted this under bop's login...this is actually beep's post)
