I've decided that I love this "Drunk Love" Denyse Schmidt quilt so much, I'm going to offer up my assistance to Beep and help her make a rendition of this quilt. I really am fascinated by the artistry that can go in to hand made quilting. My mother and sisters have made numerous quilts, and we have some priceless heirlooms from my mom.

I think most quilt patterns are very conservative and the material selection often times can make them look boring or overly "pioneerish." I like that this pattern marries up the traditional textile medium with a fun graphic design twist, in both layout and fabrics. I'm sure it will take us forever, but a huge king size quilt will look very nice in our home in a warm tone color palette.

I hope we do not have "melt-downs" picking out fabric, and cutting out all the intricate pieces that go into one block. Multiply that by two other block renditions. Then reverse that out and make three new block renditions. Then we can piece and rotate using six different block versions. It will be difficult, but look at the end product!

This has disaster written all over it! From past experience Bop and I don't work well together on things that involve directions and putting things together. Maybe this will be the turning point for us. I'm willing to try, if Bop is wiling to read and stick to the pattern!
All I can say is that you need to hire yourself a sister to do it for you. I have the book the pattern is in if you want to read it. Just reading it put me back 5 years in my willingness to sew a quilt on my own. And good luck with that collaboration thing. Really. Good luck.
