Another One Bites The Dust
At our BBQ this weekend our friend brought a beautiful bowl of cherries for us to enjoy. I dug right in they looked so good! A few minutes later my mouth felt a little tingly, I didn't care happens all the time for instance when I eat bananas. Anyway, a few minutes after that my lip started to swell up in a few places and felt numb like I'd been at the dentist. I knew right away I must be allergic to the cherries. I can't believe it! This is just one more in a long list of fruit that bites the dust for me. I'm now officially allergic to apples, peaches, nectarines, apricots, plums and now cherries. Granted I have not had extreme reactions to nectarines or apricots...but my allergist suggests I stay away from them anyway. So I ask you, what's a girl supposed to eat? Why can't I be allergic to twinkies or something?

What a pain ... I suppose I should be allergic to chocolate :) !!
A shrinking list of fruits is no fun at all. As for cherries...no big loss from my perspective. Cherries are "cucka-puhka...!"
Sorry about the cherries. I just bought a large container of them at Costco and I have loved them. It is a pain to have to spit out the seed but they are otherwise delicious. I remember my mother canning cherries--they were soft and yucky. Again, sorry about the cherries--why can't you be allergic to okra or some other obnoxious vegetable.
