Starting The Adoption Process

Today is the day we officially start the adoption process. We are meeting with WACAP this evening after work, and still deciding on whether or not we should meet with LDS Adoption Services. At this point I'm still skeptical with LDS-AS, and feel a lot more comfortable with WACAP. It is pretty exciting to think that we will be parents at some point down the road. It is after all a much longer process than your typical 9 month pregnancy. We know for sure we want to adopt a baby girl. I have all sorts of thoughts in my head and of course the "bug again" to want to move to a house with more space as we prepare for our family addition. We'll see! This is definitely an exciting time in our lives.

Yes, we are having our first meeting with WACAP (same agency my sister used to adopt her two cuties) today to gather more information. We are also meeting with LDS Family Services later this month for more fact finding. Hopefully in the next two weeks we'll have decided which agency to go with and move forward. I'm still in kind of a mourning state, but know this is the right thing for our family.

This really is so exciting. We hope all goes well and that the process doesn't have to take years. Our prayers are with you as well!

How exciting! Darin and I were in the temple Thursday helping to seal children to their parents and I got all choked up thinking about adopting. I'm so excited for you. I'm really excited to hear about who you decide to go with.

I totally get the mourning too. I'm so sorry. Even so, I figure there's a child or children out there that belong to your family and are simply taking a more circuitous route. I can't wait to meet your little girl!
