Starting The Home Study Process

Beep and I started going through the "piles" of paperwork as part of our home study portion of our adoption process. A tad overwhelming, but fun to be gathering all this information. We have our WACAP Weekend coming up the first weekend in May, to meet adoption coordinators, social workers, and others who will be involved in our experience. Each of us are spearheading various portions of paperwork to fill out. I took the financial statement that needs to be filled out. I thought to myself..."My anal retentive budget spreadsheet at home is WAY better and more in depth than what they want. I should just print ours out and submit it that way!" But, this is a lesson in following rules and third party procedures, so I too will comply.

It's amazing how much paperwork is involved with adoption processes. Good luck with all of it!

And you should share some budget tips on your blog :) !!

I didn't know you two had a blog! I clicked over here through "Lucy Van Pelt"s blog.
Also imagine my surprise to see your first post is about adoption. We'll be watching you.
I just got an email from our WACAP contact. We are still decided which agency to go through, may I ask why you chose them?

Hey duchess! We chose WACAP mostly on the recommendation of my sister. She has adopted 2 chinese girls. We also know at least two other people who have used WACAP for international adoptions and have had very positive experiences. I'm happy to answer any questions or even put you in touch with my sister if you want any more information. It is a difficult decision, but I know one will stand out for you soon.

Bop...You and I are so much alike when it comes to anal budgeters. Maybe you and I should start our own consulting business and tour the world to show everyone how to financially annoy spouses and how to pinch a dollar out of a penny.
