Voting On My Time Frame

I voted this week. I'm really hoping that all the candidates I want in national, local, state and county positions get elected. I'll have to wait and see. I love being a "Permanent Absentee" registered voter. I'm not one to be patient with waiting in lines, and having to wait my turn and deal with people and their riff-raff and feelings and all that crap. It is so much easier to get everything in advance in the mail and fill it out on my time frame and mail it in a few weeks before any actual election.

Let's hope the Republicans get kicked out of the White House! I may become a Canadian resident if McCain and "Caribou Barbie" become the US Commander in Chief and second in charge. Yikes...!

I LOVE to vote at the polling place on election day. It makes me feel like I am part of something much bigger than myself. I feel like I made a difference by taking time away from my day to day activities (yes, I know some people can't do that). I love seeing my neighbors and talking to the old lady pollworkers. I actually volunteered to be an election judge (as pollworkers as called), but I guess I wasn't needed.

Plus, since our polling place is at our local elementary school I feel that I am setting an example to the school kids that voting is important.

I always feel good after voting.

And....OBAMA '08!

I'd much rather vote from home, but Steve insists going to the polling place to vote is my civic duty and an experience I should be delighted to have.

Being booked in meetings all day next Tuesday, I won't have the luxury to "leave" during the day or come in late or leave early.

I went once in the polls and it reminded me of the bus. People stunk like pee, b/o and super bad breath.

For the record, I don't force Kelly to go to the polls with me. This is actually the first time I have heard that she prefers to vote from home.

Apparently, we have a failure to communicate. :)
