France Vacation, Day 1

The first day of vacation was spent flying. After our trip to Africa last year which consisted of 21.5 hours not including airport layovers, we knew the flight to Paris would be a cake walk compared to Johannesburg. We vowed to find a non-stop flight and Air France started non-stop service from Seattle to Paris. We left at 2:00pm in the afternoon and flew way north up into northern Canada, north of Hudson Bay. Continuing over Greenland, Iceland, British Isles and down into Paris. I had always heard of the Northern Lights and had seen pictures of them before. We were able to witness and view the lights outside our airplane. It was amazing. I could see whites, yellows and pinks. With the time changes we got to Paris the next morning. So first day, was chalked up to natures amazing light show while we flew.

I've always wanted to see the Northern Lights. Maybe someday I'll fly to Paris and see them too.

I really liked seeing the northern lights on the plane it was cool. My favorite part of my flight though was watching 3 movies:
The Devil Wears Prada
Definitely Maybe
Made of Honor
All chick flicks, all movies Dan would rather not see :)

I watched The Fountain and 10,000 BC. Both complete duds that I would never recommend to ANYONE!

I for one am just glad you're back. If you want to see something better than the Northern Lights, rub your eyes real hard and save yourself the airfare.

I may need a heavy narcotic to ensure that protocol works to it's best effect.

The expense was TOTALLY worth it. I love Europe and can't wait to get back soon.
