Celebrating Fall

Since this is our favorite time of year we've gone out of our way to really enjoy it. Like Dan posted about earlier we went up to Snohomish and walked around the old town looking in antique stores and eating pie. As a little plug, the Snohomish Pie Company has the BEST chocolate pecan pie I've ever tasted. I didn't take a picture of it since I ate it so fast. But here is the store front. If you are ever in the area, you must eat here.

After pie we took off for the farm. We had fun seeing the different pumpkins and even some animals. The turkeys we saw were kind of scary looking, but the sheep was pretty cuddly and cute.

And of course this wouldn't be complete without a picture of Dan showing off his "harvest".

We also had our annual fall soup party where we invited our good friends over to celebrate the season. Dan and I had a lot of fun cooking and decorating the house inside and out. We even got the fire pit going!

We also had fun making cookies.

We had a great time with our friends.

I can't decide if I like our "owl decor" best, or all the fun Fiesta orange soup bowls we've acquired over the years for this fun annual venue.

I was also afraid of the turkey up at the farm. It was just shy of being the same size as a Mini Cooper! It had the look in its eye, that it was going to wreck havoc on all the innocent visitors. He was acting very shifty!

The soup party was fun, but those cookies were fantastic! You'll have to share the recipe. It looks like you really are making the most of this autumn.

Hyrum and I are sooo bummed that we missed your party. After a day of running around all of the state of Washington, we didn't have time or stomach to make the drive out to Seattle. We need to have you all out again for dinner sometime soon.

The soup party was a lot of fun. Thanks for the invite and all the good soups.

Is that a normal size for a turkey? I know nothing about farm animals.
