Officially Accepted

We are OFFICIALLY accepted into the Chinese adoption program! WooHoo…!

First major milestone is now complete in this process. Now we are onto a bit more paperwork. We hopefully will get fingerprinted in mid-January at the federal building, wrap up the Chinese dossier, and then the clock should start ticking…currently 27-36 months before we travel to China. Looks like we still have ample time to get our daughter's room ready, more than likely in a new home if the economy does not self combust over the next 12-18 months.

Dan, I just found Shannon's blog and it took me to your families! Some of my favorite memories popped into my head when I saw your name. Remember Lake Powell with the crew, sweating under a tarp without any water? We had to go to a trailor home and ask for a drink because we thought we were going to die!!! I don't think anyone has ever made me laugh like you did! Those were fun memories for me. I hope your and your wife are doing great--it looks like a baby will be coming your way soon. Congratulations! Merry Christmas! Karina Lewis VanOrman (see, with VanOrman as a last name I'm kind of like family).

AWESOME NEWS!!! I am so excited for you two to be even closer... I'm sure it seems like it will never get here... but before you know it you will be proud parents of a beautiful little girl. Way to go on all your hard work to the both of you...
