Baking For A Good Cause

I really enjoy cooking and packaging it all up. It's one thing in our marriage that we love doing. Cooking/Baking and sharing with people. I typically do the cooking, and Holly will make custom designed labels and packaging for the goods. She has such an amazing talent for art, and a keen sense of design and style.

Friday after work I made a double batch of my sister Shelly's banana bread. I love her recipe the best out of a ton of banana bread recipes. It has sour cream in it, eggs, lemon and vanilla extract, and copious amounts of mashed bananas. It always remains so moist, even days after it's baked if it is stored properly. I wanted to make a bunch of loaves for the Wright family yard sale and bake sale for their pending adoption.

We picked up some ribbon to match the breads, and then Holly used the natural ingredients in the bread to be the inspiration for the brown and yellow color scheme. She tried a few renditions and then finally she felt she got it right.

I took a few shots of the goods, before we finished readying these for delivery. I understand the sale overall went well for the Wrights. Holly and I, both, are very exited for their pending adoption.

We love you guys, thank you so much! They were for sure the most popular item- everyone loved the packaging. So pretty!

I thought about saving a loaf for ourselves, but figured it was for a good cause, Wright's should have them all. I'm glad they tasted good and were cooked all the way through! That is my one fear with baking, you never know what you have until you cut into it!
