While going through my regular blog routine this morning I ran across this cool article about an event last week at west elm celebrating the opening of its newest manhattan shop. They hosted a silent auction of one-of-a-kind furniture and objects created by david stark using recycled west elm packing materials. All of the proceeds went to the cooper hewitt and at the end of the night, david’s work was able to raise $8,000 for the museum. Since I love west elm and I love design I thought I'd share it with you.
WOW! New statistics show that 1 in 6 Americans go without food on a daily basis. No one should go hungry! Every family member or friend that I know, can spare a few bucks or a few non-perishable items to there local food banks. Bypass your $4 beverage from time-to-time, and put that $4 towards 10 cans of food to help the homeless. Our communities and non-profits need our help in an a major way!

I like the cactus sculptures. Those would be fun on a covered patio or terrace out of the elements.
