Swiss Alps

We started watching "On Her Majesty's Secret Service", the 007 movie that was filmed partly in the Swiss Alps, last night when I realized I hadn't finished posting about our trip. This was one of our favorite parts of our vacation, the beauty of the majestic mountains and the quaint villages.

At the base of the mountain was a the small town of Interlaken. It was cute with traditional buildings, and an odd cow.

We drove into the mountains a ways until we found a place to park the car and head for the first of the tram rides.

I caught a funny panicked Dan moment.

After the first tram ride we took a train. To be honest, the train scared me more than the tram did. It was kind of rickety and seemed to be riding too close to the cliff.

We got to Murren, a very small town with no cars. They even had cows with bells!!!

The view was spectacular!

Then we got on the longer tram...um, yeah, hanging by wires is a little unsettling!

Views from the top were excellent. Sadly it was a little foggy so we didn't see as far out to the French or Italian Alps, but what we did see was spectacular!!

Saw a para-glider...this seems insane!
