I recently finished up the book, “A Pig in Provence,” by Georgeanne Brennan. I really love food writing and the experiences people have and associate with creating family traditions around food. I would highly recommend this book. My biggest dream would be to have my own [small] farm somewhere, where I could be self sustaining and grow all my own veggies and herbs, chickens etc. Her family stories in Provence are phenomenal, and I can’t wait to try the recipes included in this book.

I just got a bit of a chuckle thinking about you gathering eggs, butchering chickens and hogs, and shoveling chicken poo. Dan on a farm. Good clean fun.
I'm with the DW. I can't see you on Green Acres shopping for overalls at Woolworths over in Bugtussle. You guyz are total "Dazzling Urbanites". But then you did say "my biggest Dream". Shoveling chickens and gathering hog poo. Thank God I'm a City Boy.
This is such a good book. I really liked it. But I could have done without the chapter on blood sausage.
