Honoring Our Mother's

I had an extremely neat opportunity to honor my mother and the women of this world yesterday in sacrament meeting at church. Mother's Day is always hard, as is Mom's Birthday. It was nice to be able to gather my thoughts on the amazing influence women leave in our lives, and pay public tribute to Mom yesterday. I hope everyone loves their Mom as much as I love my Mom.

Miss Me – But Let Me Go
Author Unknown

When I come to the end of the road
And the sun has set for me
I want no rites in a gloom-filled room.
Why cry for a soul set free?

Miss me a little – but not too long
And not with your head bowed low.
Remember the love that we once shared,
Miss me – but let me go.

For this is a journey that we all must take
And each must go alone.
It's all a part of the Master's plan,
A step on the road to home.

When you are lonely and sick of heart
Go to the friends we know
And bury your sorrows in doing good deeds.
Miss Me – But Let me Go!

Happy Mother's Day Mom! We love and miss you terribly! Not a day goes by that I don't see something that reminds me of you, or think of a wonderful memory we shared. I spend more and more time in the kitchen as I get older, feeling closer to you, cooking all your recipes and sharing amazing food with my friends. Thank you for sharing all your amazing talents with your children.

Dan, thank you so much for your lovely words in Sacrament Meeting yesterday. You did a fantastic job of including all women and at the same time, paying tribute to your own mother.

I'm very glad they asked you to speak again.

Dude, that talk was choice. I lost my Mom when I was 11, and there is alot that I don't remember about her. I do know she was a selfless giver who would do anything for most anyone who needed help. I was totally fightin' off the tears listening to you speak. I was wishing I had more memories, I was wishing I hadn't blocked so much out. But I'm thankful for the time I had with her and the traits she passed on to us kidz.I'm proud to have a friend like you and Moms Rule!!! OK??

Dan...you're so sweet. The best thing to know is that your kids loved you as much as you loved them. Your Mom must be beaming! Fantastic pictures!!
