Remembering My Mom On Mother's Day

On this upcoming Mother's Day, I honor my mother, the vibrant & strong woman who brought me into this world along with seven other siblings. Who gave me life, and taught me to love it! Who, together with my Dad, taught me to stand on my own two feet and encouraged me every step of my way to pursue my passions. Mother's Day is always hard, but it's a good remembrance of all the happy memories I hold in my heart now that she is no longer living. I hope everyone loves their Mothers as much as I love and miss my Mom immensely...!

Me and My Mom at Grandpa & Grandma Craven's, Summer 1977. I'm just over 2 years old. Mom is expecting my younger sister Gretchen and is approaching age 37. Beautiful, healthy and vibrant. The way I will always remember her in my heart.

Miss Me – But Let Me Go
Author Unknown

When I come to the end of the road
And the sun has set for me
I want no rites in a gloom-filled room.
Why cry for a soul set free?

Miss me a little – but not too long
And not with your head bowed low.
Remember the love that we once shared,
Miss me – but let me go.

For this is a journey that we all must take
And each must go alone.
It's all a part of the Master's plan,
A step on the road to home.

When you are lonely and sick of heart
Go to the friends we know
And bury your sorrows in doing good deeds.
Miss Me – But Let me Go!

A candid shot of me and my Mom on mine & Holly's wedding Day, November 1999.

Happy Mother's Day Mom! We love and miss you terribly! Not a day goes by that I don't see something that reminds me of you, or think of a wonderful memory we shared. I spend more and more time in the kitchen as I get older, feeling closer to you, cooking all your recipes and sharing amazing food with my friends. Thank you for sharing all your amazing talents with your children.

i always love to hear what you have to say about your mother, it's always a joy. I am grateful you have found a way to live through her but also share it with all of us.... by the way... you made a beautiful 2 year old. :) happy mother's day to that cute little lady you married. she is going to be a vision of motherhood (i'm pretty sure she practices successfully already) xoxo
