Is it spring yet?

According to the calendar it's spring, but it doesn't really feel like the weatherman is on board. In spite of the cold the flowers have been making an appearance all around our neighborhood. I've seen a lot of daffodils blooming, pansy's being planted and trees full of blossoms.

Dan noticed that the cherry trees on the University of Washington campus were in bloom so we thought we'd go on a picnic with friends. Unfortunately it was way too cold to eat outside, so we ended up just going for a walk. Apparently everyone else in Seattle had the same idea! We saw at least 2 wedding parties and hundreds of people posing in front of and in the trees.

We tried to get our friends son to interact with "nature", but he wasn't really into it. Here is Dan setting a good example for Miles.

It may have been cold and overcast, but you could still see the fluffy flowers and smell their sweet scent, plus it just felt good to be outside. The sights and smells of this time of year always feels like a fresh new start, I love spring.
