So yesterday as I was out and about with visiting family (Mom, Renae, Olivia and Nicole are up visiting for a week) and we ended up at Wallingford Center. First and foremost to get cupcakes at Trophy *YUM!* and while we were there I discovered Fabric Crush. The name is so fitting for me, I really do have a love affair with fabric. I love the colors and patterns and this store is so light and bright I couldn't help but smile as soon as I walked in.
I also had to buy something, even if it was something small...2 fat quarters fit that bill perfectly. As I left the store (with a smile on my face) I had no real idea what I would do with my purchase until I walked over to the toy store my nieces were playing in and saw little girl patchwork aprons. They were so cute and seemed like a perfect next project especially since Olivia and Nicole had so much fun this weekend helping Uncle Dan cook in our kitchen! I'll post pictures as soon as I start...which will hopefully be soon :)

I took my sewing class there and it is by far my favorite fabric store in Seattle. I think it's because the store is so light and bright and modern looking. Most fabric stores I have been to are old and stuffy feeling. Not Fabric Crush!
I totally agree! There is definitely something to be said for presentation and light. It is really so much easier to see all the fabric, most stores are so packed with stuff I can't digest the colors and patterns.
There's a store in So. Jordan called Material Girls. It is also fun, cheerful, and bright. I can't go in there without buying something, and I don't really even sew! Next time you're in Utah, you'll have to check it out! It is fabulous!
Holly, are you going to make aprons for the nieces? I think I successfully got Olivia interested in cooking in the kitchen.
Yes, I think it will make a nice gift for the little girlies to have an apron now that they've had fun cooking with you! And hopefully this will prove good motivation for me to get sewing again!
Why didn't you tell me about this place? I must go
